Supported Employment

Vocational Skill Assessment
Before an individual is placed, an initial vocational assessment is performed. This assessment helps us make good job matches by identifying an individual's workskills, abilities, and preferences.

Selective Job Placement
There is no fee to employers for the placement of qualified workers.

Once an individual's skills are assessed, if the individual is capable of performing a job adequately without the help of a support service then the person is immediately eligible for placement.

If it is determined that an individual will need ongoing support in the work place, this person is placed in the supported employment program.

Supported Employment
Supported Employment is a service designed to provide ongoing communication and support between Employment Resources, employees, and employers.

This ongoing support can often supply consultation, training, and individual assistance to employees to develop job competence, especially as new responsibilities arise. In addition, supported employment services can provide transportation and personal care services, and help employees become fully integrated in the workplace by establishing natural supports and good rapport with co-workers.

In sum, supported employment services help individuals flourish in their place of employment.
