Code of Ethics

New Hope Village is committed to operating with a high standard of professionalism and ethical conduct. New Hope’s Code of Ethics is based on its Mission and Value Statements and embody standards of conduct for the agency. Employees, Board Members, and Volunteers are expected to follow the established guiding principles and values and to comply with this Code of Ethics as it relates to the following activities:

Client Services

  • The people we serve must always be treated with the highest degree of dignity and respect
  • The people we serve must always be free from abuse, neglect, and mistreatment and their individual rights protected.
  • Services must center on their individualized needs, preferences, and desired outcomes and they must be given continuous opportunities for directing their services program.
  • The people we serve will receive opportunities and support to be viewed with respect and as integral members of their communities.
  • Services will safeguard the health, safety, and emotional well-being of those…receiving services.

Employees, Board of Directors, and Volunteers

  • People will respect the rights and views of each other and treat each other with fairness, courtesy and good faith.
  • People will maintain competency in their profession through learning and ongoing communication with others.
  • People will support the mission of New Hope Village and foster a spirit of partnership with those receiving services, other professionals and the community.

Business, Financial Practices, and Marketing

  • Business will be conducted in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and accurate records kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Business will be conducted in a manner that is based on a high level of integrity, trust, customer satisfaction, and accountability.
  • Services will be fairly and accurately represented.

Community

  • People must maintain and promote a professional attitude and positive image while representing New Hope Village.
  • The rights and views of fellow community members must be respected and they must be treated with fairness, courtesy, and good faith..
  • Opportunities will be used to educate others about community inclusion for persons receiving services.

 

Goals

New Hope Village grew from the ideas and hard work of caring families and citizens of west-central Iowa.  These people had one underlying desire: to provide a community-based facility which served adults with disabilities.  As the facility grew it implemented the following goals:

  • People will participate in the life of the community.
  • People will live and work in a safe environment.
  • People's needs will be met within available financial resources.
  • People will move toward self-sufficiency.
  • People are provided optimal health care.
  • Customers will be satisfied with services.
