History:
New Hope Village is a not-for-profit 501 ( c ) (
3 ) community based organization in Carroll, Iowa which began offering
services to adults with disabilities in 1977. The facility grew from
the dreams and ideas of caring parents and interested citizens in west
central Iowa. Seven cottages were initially built on a campus in the
northeast section of Carroll. An activity building, administrative offices,
and several bargain shops were added by 1978.
In 1983, the Supervised Apartment Living program began and in 1988 New
Hope launched a community living program. Today, in addition to
community homes in Manning and Glidden, there are a total of eleven (11)
community homes available in Carroll. There are also several homes and
apartments in these towns which clients rent directly from others.
In 1984, Carroll
Enterprise Systems was established to provide enhanced vocational
services.
Employment Resources, a division
for community supported employment, was established in 1995. New Hope
Enterprises, another vocational branch, was opened in Manning in 1998.
Today, New Hope Village serves approximately 200 clients in residential,
vocational, health and therapeutic programs. An active Volunteer
Program and Families Association are an important part of the auxiliary
services offered.
ACCREDITATION: Since 1985, New Hope Village has consistently
received three-year Accreditation ratings (the highest ratings given) form
the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
