New Hope Village designs and fabricates custom wheelchair seating systems. This service is not limited to the clients of New Hope Village; it is available to anyone with special wheelchair needs!

A New Hope Wheelchair Seating specialist designs and custom fits wheelchairs to provide:

increased comfort
prevention/reduction of deformities
increased independence
control of abnormal movements
improved posture
access to work stations/areas
improved field of vision
increased awareness of environment
interfacing with communication and environmental controls

Preliminary evaluation and planning, and the design and execution of the finished product include the expertise of a professional team including the following:

Seating Specialist
Occupational Therapist
Physical Therapist
Speech Therapist

The seating systems used include:

The Contour U, a molded seat
The Silhouette, a carved seat
basic plywood and foam seat

Special adapters can be designed to assist at home or at work. The service also includes help with maintenance and repairs on chairs.

Payment methods include: Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance.
